Then that is a separate invitation! Could we enjoy the names for one afternoon first? I have enough confidence in our titles to suspect the music might disappoint them.

Aroha Te Kahu, I might just watch the first time. I do not want an invitation that turns into pressure once I arrive. I need to allow for this: I rely on public transport for most outings.

I want to give it a try without pretending the concerns have vanished. I want to keep “Invent band names with friends” manageable for the people involved. Then watching needs to remain an option throughout. I should make the invitation match that, rather than say it only to get someone through the door.

I would also like to plan an affordable away-day with friends. I have tried making a little space for women’s football; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat. I work as a small-business owner, and I rely on public transport for most outings. The help I would welcome is someone who enjoys friendly debate. I am trying to leave enough room for the ordinary parts of the week, so I would rather compare one modest attempt than agree to a bigger commitment before I know it fits.

I'd love a low-cost evening with flatmates and friends inventing impossible bands and drawing their album covers. Who's joining The Moderately Alarmed Teapots? We can make a little private gallery and leave the music entirely to the imagination.

On “Invent band names with friends”, could we keep the activity off other social platforms altogether? I would rather enjoy it than document it.

Shravya Talwar, yes. Sharing a wish does not mean every later moment has to become content. We can decide what stays between the people taking part.

I'm still unsure, Aroha Te Kahu.

Shravya Talwar, that is enough. I can come back with a clearer arrangement and let people decide then, rather than treat interest as attendance.
