Trust and safety

Community Guidelines

WishTree exists to help people share progress safely. These rules define what is allowed, what is prohibited, how moderation decisions are made, and how appeals are reviewed.

Last updated: February 23, 2026

Core Principles

  • Respect people. Attack ideas, never identities.
  • Protect privacy. Do not expose private data or identities.
  • Share truthfully. Do not manipulate or falsify outcomes.
  • Prioritize safety. Urgent harm concerns are handled first.

Prohibited Behavior

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, and coordinated abuse.
  • Sexual exploitation, sexual content involving minors, and non-consensual sexual content.
  • Violent extremism, graphic violence intended to shock, and calls for physical harm.
  • Self-harm promotion, suicide encouragement, or instructions to self-injure.
  • Fraud, scams, impersonation, phishing, or deceptive requests for money or credentials.
  • Doxxing, stalking, and unauthorized disclosure of personal or private information.
  • Manipulated or misleading content intended to cause concrete harm.
  • Spam automation, synthetic engagement rings, and abusive growth tactics.

Content Integrity Requirements

  • Post only content you created or have rights to share.
  • Do not fabricate proof, progress evidence, or identity claims.
  • Use accurate titles and descriptions when publishing wishes and outcomes.
  • Respect creator boundaries and challenge-specific rules.

Reporting and Response

  1. Use the in-product report action on posts, profiles, or comments.
  2. Each report is queued, severity scored, and assigned to a moderator.
  3. Critical categories are prioritized for the fastest first-action SLA.
  4. Every moderation action is logged with actor, timestamp, and resolution.

Enforcement Actions

  • Content actions: warning, visibility reduction, temporary hide, or permanent removal.
  • Account actions: warning, temporary suspension, restricted privileges, or account removal.
  • Escalations: critical safety threats are triaged immediately and may involve external authorities where legally required.

Appeals and Contact

If you believe an action was incorrect, contact safety@wishtree.app and include your account handle, affected content URL, and the action timestamp.

Appeals are reviewed in priority order with expedited handling for critical safety issues.
