Plant herbs with my niece and neighbours

Mariana Duarte

I'd love an afternoon planting suitable herbs in cleaned reused containers with my niece and a neighbour. We can swap spare seedlings and share a simple meal. Could someone else handle the washing up so I also get time to sit?

Who keeps looking after the herbs after the nice planting afternoon?

We need names beside that work before we start. My niece and neighbours can choose what they can manage. I would like the care recognised too, not only the photograph of freshly planted pots.

Mariana Duarte, I would enjoy talking about the attempts afterwards. I am not sure about joining the activity itself. The practical limit is that I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood.

I would like room to change the arrangement after the first attempt. I want to keep “Plant herbs with my niece and neighbours” manageable for the people involved. That is a useful distinction. A conversation afterwards can be its own invitation, without requiring someone to take part in everything.

I would also like to share a modest craft table with neighbours. For me, I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood.

On “Plant herbs with my niece and neighbours”, I would welcome a low-cost materials tip. Is there something comparably small that another person could offer you?

“Plant herbs with my niece and neighbours” is the starting point, not a promise of a perfect result. I would ask what would make one attempt possible and listen to the answer.

For this wish, Mariana Duarte: I like that this stayed small. My temptation would be to add three more things before starting. I would also like to share a modest craft table with neighbours.

Reza Davids, I would keep the extra ideas somewhere separate. One manageable attempt gives the bigger ideas something to learn from.
