Make kitchen rhythms with old friends

Rafael Nascimento

I'd love an evening with friends making gentle rhythms on suitable household objects and sharing food. Bring a spoon, bring a story, bring yourself. We can stop before the neighbours start keeping time on the wall.

Kitchen rhythms could get annoying for the people next door.

Then short and gentle, with the time agreed. A spoon can keep a little rhythm without declaring a festival. I want old friends to hear each other, hear each other properly, between the sounds.

For this wish, Rafael Nascimento: I would like to try something similar where I am. Would you mind comparing what needs adapting? I need to allow for this: I am rebuilding confidence after a long break.

I can work with that distinction. I want to keep “Make kitchen rhythms with old friends” manageable for the people involved. That would be useful. We should compare the conditions instead of assuming the same arrangement works in both places.

I would also like to make a matchday meal with neighbours. I have tried making a little space for matchday cooking; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

Could we keep the activity off other social platforms altogether? I would rather enjoy it than document it. That is how I see “Make kitchen rhythms with old friends”.

For this wish, Pia Johnsen: Yes. Sharing a wish does not mean every later moment has to become content. We can decide what stays between the people taking part.

For this wish, Rafael Nascimento: I think the company is the part I would keep, even if the rest changed. For my own plan, I am rebuilding confidence after a long break.

For this wish, Pia Johnsen: That helps me separate the purpose from the details. I can alter the activity without losing the reason for wanting to meet.
