I'd rather invent them. A quick joke needn't borrow somebody's accent or a private mistake. If a phrase has cultural meaning I don't understand, I ask before trying to translate the joke.

I like the idea, but I cannot promise to turn up. Can I stay in the conversation without saying yes? One thing I should say upfront: I keep a small monthly hobby budget. That is how I see “Invent misheard phrases with friends”.

That gives me something concrete to consider. I want to keep “Invent misheard phrases with friends” manageable for the people involved. Yes. Staying curious is enough for now. I would rather have an honest maybe than a yes that makes someone uncomfortable.

Luis Caal, I would also like to record the sounds of a familiar public place without private conversations. For me, I keep a small monthly hobby budget.

I'd like a few friends to share harmless invented misunderstandings and turn them into little comic scenes. No borrowing private conversations. We can keep the recording off and the tea on; my private creativity would appreciate a day without a broadcast deadline.

On “Invent misheard phrases with friends”, I would welcome someone with practical experience. Is there something comparably small that another person could offer you?

I would keep the main wish in view: invent misheard phrases with friends. A suggestion is useful if it helps that first attempt, rather than adding another project.

For this wish, Luis Caal: Could the next update include the awkward bits as well as what went well? I would also like to record the sounds of a familiar public place without private conversations.

For this wish, Vesa Lahti: Yes. I want to keep track of what was workable, what took more effort than expected and what I would leave out next time.
