Quite possible. I'll invite people who want to play, not promise them a polished concert. Short turns, agreed volume. My enthusiasm does not count as a rehearsal.

Daniel Lim, I would be up for comparing attempts, even if joining in person is not practical. Would that help? One thing I should say upfront: I prefer borrowing equipment before buying it.

I can leave that question open until the practical details are clearer. I want to keep “Play imperfect jazz with friends” manageable for the people involved. Comparing a small attempt could work without pretending we are in the same place. We can agree what to share and leave private details out.

On “Play imperfect jazz with friends”, I would also like to host a plant-based meal with friends. For me, I prefer borrowing equipment before buying it.

I'd like two friends to join me for a home music afternoon: one simple tune, vegan snacks, no audition. We can take turns leading and finish before it becomes homework. My left hand has requested realistic expectations.

For vegan lunches, I would rather agree a small beginning than promise a long programme. Would that approach suit this wish?

For “Play imperfect jazz with friends”, I would first settle what each person can comfortably offer. Then I would choose the smallest arrangement that still feels worthwhile.

I'd read a follow-up, Daniel Lim.

That is fair. I would rather return with an honest account of an attempt than ask you to be enthusiastic in advance. That is how I see “Play imperfect jazz with friends”.
