Welcome to correct me if I am uncertain. I can organise a time and place without claiming to teach astronomy. We should use a reliable guide and say what we do not know. Is the place comfortable after dark?

I would enjoy talking about the attempts afterwards. I am not sure about joining the activity itself. For me, I need plans with a clear start and finish.

I hear the reservation. I am not asking you to commit just by replying. I want to keep “Share a beginner's sky-watching evening” manageable for the people involved. That is a useful distinction. A conversation afterwards can be its own invitation, without requiring someone to take part in everything.

I would also like to find a nearby astronomy club with a beginner evening. For me, I need plans with a clear start and finish.

I would love to invite another family for a simple evening looking at the night sky from a suitable accessible place. We can use a borrowed guide and share food rather than buy equipment. What can we actually recognise together?

On “Share a beginner's sky-watching evening”, would making a TikTok turn this into a performance? I am not sure I would want a camera involved.

For this wish, Rolf Emanuelsson: Then we should leave the camera out. A short video is a separate choice, not a condition of joining the activity.

I like that this stayed small. My temptation would be to add three more things before starting. I would also like to find a nearby astronomy club with a beginner evening.

I would keep the extra ideas somewhere separate. One manageable attempt gives the bigger ideas something to learn from. That is how I see “Share a beginner's sky-watching evening”.
