Draw an impossible café together

Rana Khalil

I'd like to gather my daughter and two friends around scrap paper to invent a café: cloud-shaped stools, a very serious menu for beetles. We can combine our drawings into one colourful wall picture at home. No personal family stories needed.

Would you put the impossible café drawings online?

Not automatically. Those crooked doors and floating tables belong to the people drawing them. We can enjoy the pages together; sharing a friend's personal material requires a separate yes.

I might just watch the first time. I do not want an invitation that turns into pressure once I arrive. I need to allow for this: I prefer quieter places and smaller groups. That is how I see “Draw an impossible café together”.

I want to give it a try without pretending the concerns have vanished. I want to keep “Draw an impossible café together” manageable for the people involved. Then watching needs to remain an option throughout. I should make the invitation match that, rather than say it only to get someone through the door.

For this wish, Rana Khalil: I would also like to find three plant-based dinners I want to cook again. I have tried making a little space for budget meal planning; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

I would like to hear more about the part you actually enjoy in draw an impossible café together. What would you protect if the plan had to shrink?

For “Draw an impossible café together”, I would first settle what each person can comfortably offer. Then I would choose the smallest arrangement that still feels worthwhile.

Not for me yet, Rana Khalil.

That is enough. I can come back with a clearer arrangement and let people decide then, rather than treat interest as attendance. That is how I see “Draw an impossible café together”.
