Ask a venue about a low-sensory visiting time

Diana Kinyanjui

I am comfortable with the basics with small meetups. I would like this to fit everyday life: I have limited room for equipment at home. I would welcome someone with practical experience.

The small meetups part caught my attention. What would make you cancel rather than push through?

If the practical conditions do not work, or people cannot comfortably take part. Cancelling once is better than treating the plan as an obligation. I cannot ignore the fact that I have limited room for equipment at home. That is how I see “Ask a venue about a low-sensory visiting time”.

I would want that said in the invitation. It makes a cautious yes possible. Could someone join for only the first part? I would not want to disrupt the plan by leaving early. That is how I see “Ask a venue about a low-sensory visiting time”.

That is useful feedback, even if we would choose differently. With small meetups, I am comfortable with the basics. I would plan a natural stopping point and say clearly which parts depend on everybody staying. Leaving should not become a personal explanation.

I would also like to plan a two-person meetup with an agreed finish time. I have tried making a little space for small meetups; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to ask a venue about a low-sensory visiting time. One thing I should say upfront: I have limited room for equipment at home.

I am interested in trying small meetups at a manageable scale. Would you prefer a practical suggestion or just some encouragement today?

“Ask a venue about a low-sensory visiting time” is the starting point, not a promise of a perfect result. I would ask what would make one attempt possible and listen to the answer.

I would try a smaller version of my own first. Then we would have something concrete to compare. I would also like to plan a two-person meetup with an agreed finish time.

For this wish, Catalina Roldan: That seems a sensible way to continue. We can compare actual attempts later without turning this conversation into a promise that either of us has already finished. The help I would value is someone with practical experience.
