Virginia Harrison, I should name the preparation jobs before asking anyone to join. Shared time should include the clearing away too. The practical limit is that I usually have more time in the morning.

Élise Le Gall, that is the part people forget. I would rather have fewer activities and shared cleanup. I would be up for comparing attempts, even if joining in person is not practical. Would that help?

I would keep the invitation more modest than the enthusiasm. With bilingual reading, I am comfortable with the basics. Comparing a small attempt could work without pretending we are in the same place. We can agree what to share and leave private details out.

I would also like to read a short bilingual story and note useful expressions. I have tried making a little space for bilingual reading; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to record my own pronunciation to notice one improvement. I usually have more time in the morning.

On “Record my own pronunciation to notice one improvement”, would a YouTube explanation help, or would a short written note be easier to follow?

For this wish, Virginia Harrison: I would choose the format around the actual question. A video is not automatically clearer, and I would want the essential information available in words too.

I am still not completely convinced, but I would read a follow-up after you try it. I would also like to read a short bilingual story and note useful expressions.

That is fair. I would rather return with an honest account of an attempt than ask you to be enthusiastic in advance. The help I would value is a useful beginner resource. That is how I see “Record my own pronunciation to notice one improvement”.
