Yes. A useful note should include the awkward part and what I would change, without exposing anyone else's private experience. The practical limit is that I do best with short sessions and breaks.

On “Book a beginner paddling session with a qualified local club”, I would be up for comparing attempts, even if joining in person is not practical. Would that help? My plan has to fit this: I need step-free venues for in-person plans.

I would keep the first version small enough to find out. With water safety learning, I am keen to learn with others. Comparing a small attempt could work without pretending we are in the same place. We can agree what to share and leave private details out.

I would also like to ask about borrowing equipment before buying my own. For me, I need step-free venues for in-person plans.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to book a beginner paddling session with a qualified local club. My plan has to fit this: I do best with short sessions and breaks.

For water safety learning, I would rather agree a small beginning than promise a long programme. Would that approach suit this wish?

“Book a beginner paddling session with a qualified local club” is the starting point, not a promise of a perfect result. I would ask what would make one attempt possible and listen to the answer.

Bento Brito, no promises, but maybe.

For this wish, Lizz Verbeek: That is fair. I would rather return with an honest account of an attempt than ask you to be enthusiastic in advance. The help I would value is a useful beginner resource.
