Suggestions are welcome if they fit the small version of the plan. I am not looking to turn it into a bigger project. I need to allow for this: I need step-free venues for in-person plans.

I like the idea, but I cannot promise to turn up. Can I stay in the conversation without saying yes? For me, I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood. That is how I see “Take a broken low-voltage gadget to a repair café”.

I do not need everyone to choose the same version. With repair diagnosis, I am returning after a break. Yes. Staying curious is enough for now. I would rather have an honest maybe than a yes that makes someone uncomfortable.

I would also like to learn how to organise screws during a small repair. For me, I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood. I work as a care worker, and I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood. The help I would welcome is someone with practical experience. I am trying to leave enough room for the ordinary parts of the week, so I would rather compare one modest attempt than agree to a bigger commitment before I know it fits.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to take a broken low-voltage gadget to a repair café. One thing I should say upfront: I need step-free venues for in-person plans.

With repair diagnosis, I tend to notice how much preparation sits behind the nice result. What would you leave out here? That is how I see “Take a broken low-voltage gadget to a repair café”.

I do not think “Take a broken low-voltage gadget to a repair café” needs to grow before it is worth trying. I would welcome a small practical suggestion and keep the extra possibilities for later.

Could the next update include the awkward bits as well as what went well? I would also like to learn how to organise screws during a small repair.

On “Take a broken low-voltage gadget to a repair café”, yes. I want to keep track of what was workable, what took more effort than expected and what I would leave out next time. The help I would value is someone with practical experience.
