I would ask what they need before saying the plan works for them. If I cannot make it suitable, I should say that plainly. For me, I am rebuilding confidence after a long break.

If there is a way to join a small version, I would be interested. What would you need to know first? I need to allow for this: I work some weekends. That is how I see “Find a workable first step for naked-eye astronomy”.

The useful part of this conversation is making the limits visible. With naked-eye astronomy, I am a regular amateur. We would need to agree the practical details and whether it suits both of us. Interest here is not a booking or an obligation.

I would also like to make a simple guide to finding north after dark. For me, I work some weekends. I work as a project coordinator, and I work some weekends. The help I would welcome is someone with practical experience. I am trying to leave enough room for the ordinary parts of the week, so I would rather compare one modest attempt than agree to a bigger commitment before I know it fits.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to find a nearby astronomy club with a beginner evening. The practical limit is that I am rebuilding confidence after a long break.

My own aim is to make a simple guide to finding north after dark. Which part of your plan could we compare without assuming they are the same activity?

I would protect the time together in “Find a workable first step for naked-eye astronomy”. The exact result matters less to me than an arrangement people can enjoy without pressure.

Lulut Hariyah, I would change whatever makes joining harder without adding much to the experience. The main wish can stay; the arrangement does not have to be fixed. The help I would value is a useful beginner resource.
