Sign in to join the discussionOn “Start a friendly football discussion evening”, I keep coming back to women’s football. How would you stop the most confident person taking over?

Agree turns where they help, and ask before advising. I would also need to notice when I am the one taking over. For me, I prefer borrowing equipment before buying it.

정호 박, if there is a way to join a small version, I would be interested. What would you need to know first? One thing I should say upfront: I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood.

Kata Stroh, the useful part of this conversation is making the limits visible. With women’s football, I am returning after a break. We would need to agree the practical details and whether it suits both of us. Interest here is not a booking or an obligation.

I would also like to plan an affordable away-day with friends. For me, I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood. I work as a nursery worker, and I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood. The help I would welcome is a fellow supporter happy to welcome a newcomer. I am trying to leave enough room for the ordinary parts of the week, so I would rather compare one modest attempt than agree to a bigger commitment before I know it fits.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to start a friendly football discussion evening. This is why I am keeping the plan modest: I prefer borrowing equipment before buying it.

For this wish, 정호 박: My own aim is to plan an affordable away-day with friends. Which part of your plan could we compare without assuming they are the same activity?

“Start a friendly football discussion evening” is the starting point, not a promise of a perfect result. I would ask what would make one attempt possible and listen to the answer. That is how I see “Start a friendly football discussion evening”.

정호 박, what would make you change the first version after hearing all this? For my own plan, I am still finding my way around a new neighbourhood.

Kata Stroh, I would change whatever makes joining harder without adding much to the experience. The main wish can stay; the arrangement does not have to be fixed. The help I would value is a fellow supporter happy to welcome a newcomer.
