Find a workable first step for cycling

Mauro Argentero

The ambition is to improve my badminton footwork. I need to plan around this: I have limited room for equipment at home.

The cycling part caught my attention. I am interested, but I would not sign up for something open-ended.

Neither would I. I want a clear finish for the first attempt, with a separate decision about doing more. I cannot ignore the fact that I have limited room for equipment at home.

A finish time changes it for me. Enthusiasm is easier when I know I can leave. Could someone join for only the first part? I would not want to disrupt the plan by leaving early.

That is useful feedback, even if we would choose differently. With cycling, I am experienced but still curious. I would plan a natural stopping point and say clearly which parts depend on everybody staying. Leaving should not become a personal explanation.

I would also like to build a consistent swimming routine. I have tried making a little space for cycling; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat. That is how I see “Find a workable first step for cycling”.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to improve my badminton footwork. One thing I should say upfront: I have limited room for equipment at home.

My own aim is to build a consistent swimming routine. Which part of your plan could we compare without assuming they are the same activity?

On “Find a workable first step for cycling”, I would keep “Find a workable first step for cycling” as one small invitation. A different version of a related wish could teach us something without either of us copying the other's whole plan.

Mauro Argentero, that sounds manageable.

That seems a sensible way to continue. We can compare actual attempts later without turning this conversation into a promise that either of us has already finished. The help I would value is a patient training partner.
