Find a workable first step for rescue fundraising

My own wish is to help organise a small fundraiser with clear accounts. I like the practical scale. Would you keep a note of the cost as well as the result?

Yes, including small costs that are easy to forget. I would distinguish what we already had from what somebody had to buy. I work some weekends.

I am interested in the company, less in producing a polished result. Would that fit? My plan has to fit this: I prefer daytime meetups close to home.

I would keep the first version small enough to find out. With rescue fundraising, I am experienced but still curious. It would fit the small version I have in mind. We can enjoy making an attempt without promising a polished outcome.
