That would be my first option. I want to check what is already available before turning a small wish into a shopping list. For me, I share my free time with family responsibilities.

Now I am more interested. The equipment list usually loses me. If there is a way to join a small version, I would be interested. What would you need to know first?

I can work with that distinction. With puzzle games, I am comfortable with the basics. We would need to agree the practical details and whether it suits both of us. Interest here is not a booking or an obligation.

I would also like to help host a respectful community tournament. I have tried making a little space for puzzle games; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to learn the basics of a new strategy game. I cannot ignore the fact that I share my free time with family responsibilities.

Connor Arnold, on “Learn the basics of a new strategy game”: On “Learn the basics of a new strategy game”, I would welcome beginner-friendly coaching resources. Is there something comparably small that another person could offer you?

For this wish, Raewyn Reynolds: I do not think “Learn the basics of a new strategy game” needs to grow before it is worth trying. I would welcome a small practical suggestion and keep the extra possibilities for later.

Connor Arnold, that sounds manageable.

I would change whatever makes joining harder without adding much to the experience. The main wish can stay; the arrangement does not have to be fixed. The help I would value is a patient practice partner.
