If the practical conditions do not work, or people cannot comfortably take part. Cancelling once is better than treating the plan as an obligation. I cannot commit to every week.

I would want that said in the invitation. It makes a cautious yes possible. I am interested in the company, less in producing a polished result. Would that fit?

I would keep the invitation more modest than the enthusiasm. With legume recipes, I am a regular amateur. It would fit the small version I have in mind. We can enjoy making an attempt without promising a polished outcome.

I would also like to learn to cook a bean variety I have not tried. I have tried making a little space for legume recipes; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat. I work as a carpenter, and I do best with short sessions and breaks. The help I would welcome is a welcoming cooking group. I am trying to leave enough room for the ordinary parts of the week, so I would rather compare one modest attempt than agree to a bigger commitment before I know it fits.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to find useful plant-based options for a short trip. For me, I cannot commit to every week.

Would you put this on LinkedIn, or would that make a small personal wish feel like a work achievement?

I would share a useful lesson there only if I wanted that audience. I do not want every pleasant activity to become evidence of professional productivity.

Brooke Coffey, keep the small version.

I would want to hear that without defending every choice. People can share an afternoon and come away wanting different things. The help I would value is someone willing to compare first attempts. That is how I see “Find useful plant-based options for a short trip”.
