That is fine. A conversation does not have to turn into a signup. It can still help me think through the plan. I work some weekends.

Glad you said that. I enjoy discussing ideas without collecting more commitments. I am interested in the company, less in producing a polished result. Would that fit?

I would keep the invitation more modest than the enthusiasm. With woodcarving, I am comfortable with the basics. It would fit the small version I have in mind. We can enjoy making an attempt without promising a polished outcome.

I would also like to share a modest craft table with neighbours. I have tried making a little space for woodcarving; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

That gives us two related aims to compare. I would like to try a beginner pottery workshop. One thing I should say upfront: I work some weekends.

My own aim is to share a modest craft table with neighbours. Which part of your plan could we compare without assuming they are the same activity?

The part I want to try is already in “Share something I learn about woodcarving”. I would rather make room for that than collect more ideas I cannot fit into the day.

For this wish, Georgian Ioniță: Please leave room for someone to have a less positive experience too. I would also like to share a modest craft table with neighbours.

On “Share something I learn about woodcarving”, I would want to hear that without defending every choice. People can share an afternoon and come away wanting different things. The help I would value is a low-cost materials tip.
