I am interested in day hiking too. I like the idea, but what is the smallest version you would actually try?

I can work with that distinction. With day hiking, I am a regular amateur. We would need to agree the practical details and whether it suits both of us. Interest here is not a booking or an obligation.

I would also like to find a shaded walking route close to home. I have tried making a little space for day hiking; the difficult part was keeping the session small enough to repeat.

On “Share something I learn about day hiking”, I would change whatever makes joining harder without adding much to the experience. The main wish can stay; the arrangement does not have to be fixed. The help I would value is advice for a small growing space.
